Getlocal Visual Identity

GetLocal was started by a few avid travellers who felt that tourists needed to get a more local feel to their advice when visiting Iceland, without sacrificing the type of customer-service and high-quality products that they were accustomed to building in their many years of combined experience in software and web development.

My role was to design a logo that could represent a company that is striving to be the best and most unique in their field. The logo is inspired by two things, a) Milton Glaser’s 1977 “I Heart NY” campaign that is still in use to this day and b) the hearts people click on social media to express their love to a certain service or a topic.

The brands core colors are an aggressive red to catch attention and a bright green-blue accent color, along with a secondary palette including a set of bright colors for illustrations and campaigns and neutral colors for backgrounds and typography. In addition to designing the core visual identity I also did a few initial wireframes and the first version of Getlocal’s website.
